Health Care Horse Pucky

Take a look at the annual salaries of the CEOs who run the U.S. health care industry. These aren't stock option inclusions, these are their actual annual salaries. It makes me want to barf. I hope our new Health Care Reform plan goes after some of these big wigs and taxes them accordingly.

I have no problem with people who are smart enough to make loads of money from an honest days work, or just plain lucky by being in the right place at the right time. My question is: How hard do they have to work, how smart do they have to be, and how many hours a day do they actually work to deserve that kind of money? Where is the balance? And how much does a person need to live comfortably?

What really gets my underwear in a bunch is the fact that in 2010 the health care agencies have contributed $49,769,801 to both the Democrat and Republican Parties for campaign funds. Now tell me how objective either side can be with this Health Care Reform Bill on the table. Let's see what shakes out with all this reform stuff. It should be interesting or just more horse pucky as usual.

Save on Taxes and Health Care Reform

All right, all ready! Let's get going on saving taxes and all this health care reform hooey. I agree with Grayson's take on the Republican philosophy. Don't get sick and die quick.

My favorite idea comes from A Modest Proposal by Jonathon Swift circa 1729. It's a satirical article stating that children should be used as food. They are both nutritious and delicious stewed, baked, roasted, or boiled. That will take care of all the juvenile delinquents in our school system, which is already overburdened with an abundance of services for the "darlings" at the taxpayers expense.

For those of us who never get sick; we should be mailed a yearly wellness incentive check. Let's see now, that equates to $152.40 per month, which I pay out of pocket times 12 months equals $1,828.80 per year.

Let's get going folks. We can learn from the past and hope for the future. We can save on taxes and health care reform at the same time.

Health Care Reform is Horse Pucky

I was doing some research on campaign contributions from HMOs because I've been curious about how much campaign money comes from the health care industry. What I found were some pretty staggering figures. It has proved what I've suspected all along. Our federal government is being bought off by wealthy HMO CEOs. It's downright scary.

In 1990, when life was more affordable, the HMOs donated $310,323 to the Democratic Party and $130,682 to the Republican Party. In 2008, when you can't even afford to die, $5,916,887 was donated to the Democrats, and $4,416,729 was donated to the Republicans. We're talking millions folks, not thousands. So, fellow Americans, because both parties are in bed with the HMOs, do you really believe that our health care system will be reformed? It's more horse pucky as usual.
