Unfitness

Today's the day to start our physical fitness program...or not. It's the kind of program that'll make us healthy, slim, and attractive like the models in magazine ads. But, who cares about them.

Personally, I'm big into unfitness. One of my favorite foods is a puffy, powdered-sugar, raspberry jelly-filled donut followed by a bag of salty potato chips. In fact, my heart just skipped a beat just thinking about it.

Have you ever watched joggers, especially marathon runners? They appear gaunt and always look hungry. If the truth be known, they're probably craving one of those jelly donuts.

Don't delay. Start your exercise program today. The more painful the better. Begin with squats, jogging, and lifting your neighbor's Volkswagen . While you're all out there huffing and puffing, I'm going to enjoy my donut and chips. Happy trails.

Jog on over to Jenny's for more entertainment.

i lift , i run, i jog, i bench press the vw, i cardio and when i bored i squat.

that covers 1 hour a day

i then steak, i donut, i ice cream , i bacon and when i bored i also cake.

i am all for the good healthy life style, but dammit people you also need to have some joys in your life, eat the damn donut, just 1 every 2 weeks not 1 every 2 hours
and wash it down with the glass of wine, no one cares, but at least lift your ass off the chair and go for a walk after

most of my gym buddies are walking muscle but alas i have seen them eat and drink, you have to watch your hands around them, if you not fast enough they will eat the hand serving them.

if the broom stick is fatter than you please eat something. i would suggest steak and fries with a side of cake.

i would recommend visiting itsmecissy if you want some good cakes and cookies

Thanks for coming to my art blog earlier. I am all for unfitness!
By the way the latest on running/jogging is that it's not that healthy, because of an overload on muscles and joints, and people look older sooner:) So, walking seems to be healthier (until they find something that's healthier than that, lol)

lightly: I shovel horse pucky then work two horses every morning. total time 4-5 hours. Then I eat like a...horse. I hear ya.

Jesh: I didn't know that except for the joint part. I like to walk. Thanks for stopping by.

Can I just continue with my early morning floor exercises... I really don't think I'm up to lifting Volkswagens! Perhaps one day... when I stop eating!

Val, floor exercises today, Volkswagens tomorrow. Thanks for responding.

I'm down with the jelly donut fitness program. I also enjoy doing beer curls as well. Unfortunately, I can't do the donuts anymore as I have developed a gluten intolerance as I have gotten older. Also it affects my beer curls as well. Have a good weekend and enjoy your donuts. =)

emb: Yes, it's important to enjoy life or at least celebrate it with a treat or two.

Mr. Shife: There are a lot out there who can totally identify with those beer curls.

Ha! Funny. When I see joggers I do NOT see "fit." I see knee replacements in their future. But I suspect I am in the minority. :)

Hubby and I walk the south pasture every evening when its cool (after the hay has been cut and baled) I'm too old to be scratching chigger bites! I have my bicycle on a stationary trainer in the living room. Since it sits by the window where I love to sit and read, I reach out and dust it now and then. Living in the country and taking care of the land is the best exercise there is.

EG: Those joggers are the first for knee replacements later on.

QR: Taking care of the land and it's inhabitants is the BEST exercise. Anything else is forced fun.

I decided to get fit, so first I quit smoking. Gained 8 pounds!!! Now I am trying to get those pounds off by biking. I bought a three-wheeler because my balance is very bad. I had no idea just how out of shape I was! Now I'm up to 2.5 miles, but my weight is the same! Why? muscle weighs more than fat.

Judie: Glad you quit smoking. It's amazing how out of shape we can get in a short period of time. The key is to keep moving. Thanks for the great response.

I confess, I just bought (and ate) an entire container of chocolate covered almonds---organic of course. I have an excuse...will post why tomorrow.

Thanks lightly!
