I was wondering how old I have to be, to be considered over the hill. So, I looked it up. According to the urban dictionary, age 40 is the magic age for being over the hill. Past my prime. Physically lost to middle age spread. HA! I totally disagree with that.
According to age requirements, I'm so far over the hill I'm starting to climb up another one. Furthermore I feel like this is the best time of my life.
My grandchildren are a blast to be around. I have no one to answer to but myself. Work is fun because I'm my own boss. Most importantly, I'm healthy. The healthy part is just dumb luck because I come from a good gene pool, and I always make sure to keep the pool clean.
There are a couple of family members who keep telling me I shouldn't be riding horses anymore because it's dangerous. They might as well tell me to go chew on a wad of tin foil. It ain't gonna happen.
Age is relative. You are only as old as you feel. Being healthy is a definite bonus and I'm always grateful for my good fortune. I find that drinking lots of water, eating a nutritious diet, and getting plenty of exercise is a great way to enjoy life to it's fullest. It also helps to reach for the Bible first thing in the morning.
Think I'll jog over to Jenny's to say hello.
In case you were wondering what horse pucky is, you came to the right place. Pucky is synonymous with the other four letter word that begins with an "s" and ends with a "t" but is too crass to mention in polite company. There's a lot of pucky flying around these days and this blog proves it.

Alphabet Thursday - "S"
1. I can ride faster and shoot straighter than I did when I was 20. Just get out of my way.
3. I can say and do whatever I want and nobody says anything. They just roll their eyes.
4. I don't take too kindly to stupidity, especially in politicians.
5. I savor each moment especially with family and friends.
6. Most importantly, I am blessed with super good health.
To all of you who read this...thank you. To those of you who comment...it's like getting a bouquet of flowers.
Saunter over to Jenny Matlock's blog for more cool "S" words.

Old Coot Status
Now that I'm between 65 and 70, I've been wondering when I officially become an old coot. I decided to do some serious observing along with some really deep thinking. As a result of my in-depth vigilance and intelligent contemplation, I concluded that the next ten items are what is necessary in order to achieve old coot status.
1. Hair that grows everywhere but on top of your head.
2. Excessive burping, belching, and general passing of gas...in public.
3. Claims of being 39 when your're really 70.
4. Cussing at thoughtless drivers and then tailgating them for at least two miles.
5. Saying, "This service really sucks!!!", at a five star restaurant so everyone, including people eating on the patio, can hear you loud and clear.
6. Making jokes at a funeral.
7. Repeating yourself for hours to make a point.
8. Talking about the good old days even when the "good old days" weren't that great.
9. Always thinking your way is the best way.
10. Telling everyone who doesn't agree you, they are full of horse pucky.
I hate to admit it, but I'm privileged to say, I'm almost an old coot; not entirely, but I'm working on it.
