Primary Elections: Or Horse Pucky as Usual

New York State just had their primary election for NY Congressional District 25. I cannot vote in any primary election because New York state does not have open primaries. I am not registered with any party so I cannot vote in either primary party. This really makes me angry. It's undemocratic, skews the electorate, and robs people of their freedom of choice.

I think all states should have open primaries for congressional or state offices by law. There are 14 other states whose laws require open primaries. Our local government representatives
are an important vote for all of us. How can closed voting (which is really what this is) be representative of the needs of all the local constituents in a district?

As a New York State tax paying citizen, I give the Horse Pucky Award to New York State for undemocratic practices.
